This commission-only urn is handmade from ceramic porcelain in the Mont Arbor studio in Virginia, USA.
This design is our take on the classic European vase and includes inlays on the lid, shoulder and base of the urn. The glaze color and relief sculptures are fully customizable. This means you can send in photos of the person or subject you want us to carve and we will shape that form from clay and bind it to the side of your urn before we fire it, creating a unified sculptural work of art that can last for hundreds if not thousands of years with the proper care.
Each piece is one of a kind because they are shaped by hand in our studio. There will always be subtle variations between two urns because the clay, story, and inspiration for each piece are likewise unique.
Pet urn size: 100 cubic inches of capacity
Petite urn size: 150 cubic inches of capacity
Adult urn size: 250 cubic inches of capacity
A bronze threaded lid provides a secure closure designed to maintain functionality through changes in heat and moisture. Each urn is completely sealable.
Engraving is available upon request. The surface area we can engrave is subject to the unique carvings of each piece.
Deposit is 50% of total price and covers material cost and about half the labor for creating your custom art piece. Place a deposit or schedule an introductory call to begin the sculpting process. Full payment is due after your completed piece is ready and before it is shipped.
